The body of a five-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River on Thursday was found yesterday morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for Eastern Division, reported that the boy was swimming when the tragedy occurred.

This incident has raised new concerns among the police regarding the safety of young children who are left unsupervised. The Fiji Police Force is urging parents to keep a close watch on their children at all times, especially with the cyclone season approaching and the school holidays coming soon.
