The body of a five-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River, was found yesterday morning. Divisional Police Commander Eastern Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joape Cakacaka confirmed the boy had been swimming when the tragic incident occurred. This drowning has raised new alarms among authorities regarding the supervision of young children. The Fiji Police Force has urged parents to keep a close watch on their children at all times, especially with the cyclone season approaching and school holidays coming up soon.
