Tragic Drowning: Boy’s Body Recovered from Waidra River

The body of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, along the Rewa River has been recovered this morning.

Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, reported that the boy was swimming when the incident occurred.

In light of the approaching cyclone season and the school holidays, the Fiji Police Force is urging parents to closely supervise their children.

They also thanked the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and local communities for their assistance during the search.
