A 5-year-old boy tragically drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River yesterday. His body was found this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern region, reported that the boy was swimming when the incident occurred. He urged parents to closely supervise their children, especially with the cyclone season approaching and the school holidays starting soon. SSP Cakacaka also expressed gratitude to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and the local communities for their help in the search for the boy’s body.
