Authorities have sadly reported the discovery of a 10-year-old boy’s body, which was found floating in the Navua River this morning. The child was previously reported missing after a tragic incident on December 28, when he was swept away by a strong current while swimming with friends at the Raiwaqa River in Navua.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident. They are on-site and working diligently to understand the events that led to this tragedy.

This serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of water safety, especially for children. Families are urged to always supervise young swimmers and to be cautious of strong currents in rivers and other bodies of water.

In the face of this tragedy, communities often come together to support one another, which can provide some solace amid the grief. The loss of a young life is deeply felt, but it can also lead to increased awareness and preventive measures to protect others in the future.
