Actress and model Dayle Haddon has tragically passed away, while another individual remains hospitalized following a carbon monoxide leak at a residence in Pennsylvania, according to authorities. Haddon was known for her work with major brands such as Estée Lauder and L’Oréal, and graced the covers of prominent publications including Sports Illustrated and Vogue Paris during the 1970s.
The incident occurred on a Friday at around 6:31 AM local time, when police received a report of a 76-year-old man who had lost consciousness in a Bucks County home. Unfortunately, Haddon, 76, was discovered deceased in a second-floor bedroom of the same residence.
The hospitalized man, identified as Walter J. Blucas, is in critical condition at a New Jersey hospital. He is connected to Haddon as the father-in-law of her daughter, Ryan Haddon, a former journalist who co-owns the house with her husband, actor Marc Blucas.
Authorities have determined that a faulty exhaust pipe from the heating system was to blame for the carbon monoxide leak. The hazardous gas also impacted first responders at the scene, leading to two medics being hospitalized for carbon monoxide exposure, while a police officer received treatment on site.
Born and raised in Quebec, Canada, Haddon initially pursued a career in ballet before transitioning into modeling and acting. Her film credits include notable works such as The World’s Greatest Athlete (1973) and North Dallas Forty (1979).
While this news is undeniably tragic, it serves as a critical reminder about the dangers of carbon monoxide and the importance of ensuring that heating systems are properly maintained. The community can come together to remember Haddon’s contributions to the entertainment industry while raising awareness about home safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
