A 36-year-old woman accused of causing the death of an elderly woman in a road accident on Queens Road on August 18, 2024, has been granted bail. The woman faced a charge of Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and appeared in Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.
She allegedly lost control of her vehicle near Viseisei Bypass, which led to it veering off the road and colliding with a post. Following the impact, her vehicle then swerved back onto the road, striking another car. Tragically, a 75-year-old woman who was traveling with her died from injuries sustained in the incident.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for October 15, 2024.
