Tragic Accident Claims Life of One-Year-Old in Navua

A one-year-old child has become the latest road accident victim after a tragic incident in Naitonitoni, Navua, yesterday. Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic, reported that the child, who was with a parent and a sibling, allegedly left home unnoticed and walked onto the road where they were struck by a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man. The driver immediately took the child to Navua Hospital, where the child was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival. Investigations are ongoing, and the possibility of negligence is being examined. SSP Divuana has urged parents and guardians to be vigilant in supervising young children, as accidents can happen in an instant.
