Bola Tafou, the long-distance coach for Athletics Fiji, has called on athletes to dedicate themselves to rigorous training ahead of the 2025 Pacific Mini Games. Known for his work with top athletes, including the renowned sprinter Banuve Tabakaucoro, Tafou emphasizes the urgency of starting serious preparations immediately, as the timeline is tight.

He explained that achieving peak performance requires more than a year of focused training, and athletes must take action now to enhance their skills since the next opportunity to showcase their talents will come after the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.

To facilitate this growth, Tafou is actively coaching young athletes through an Athletics Camp that will run until January, providing them with vital skills and support. He reassured athletes that the coaching staff is well-prepared and ready to assist anyone who seeks help in their training efforts.

The 2025 Pacific Mini Games are set to take place in Koror, Palau, from June 29 to July 9, promising an exciting opportunity for athletes to shine on a larger stage.

This article emphasizes the importance of commitment and preparedness in athletics, reflecting a proactive approach to representing Fiji in future competitions. The emphasis on youth training programs also presents an encouraging outlook for the development of sports in the region, highlighting that investment in preparation today can lead to successes in the future.
