Police are investigating a reported act of sacrilege at the Vuniniudrovo Ram Krishna Hanuman Mandir in Sawani, following a break-in where thieves stole cash, a television, a standing fan, and vital components of the temple’s CCTV system. Temple president Salesh Karan expressed his concern that the incident appeared to have been premeditated, highlighting that the theft of the CCTV decoder has resulted in the loss of critical footage.
Karan stated that while the temple intends to reinstall and enhance its security measures, there are increasing worries about recurring incidents. He emphasized the need for improved protection, suggesting that more security personnel may need to monitor the temple during the night.
Community members had reportedly observed suspicious behavior in the days leading up to the burglary. Karan noted that residents had seen cars idling near the temple, which heightened their concerns about a planned act.
