The Waidamudamu Golf Group kicked off the new year with a delightful gathering at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva. Members of the group came together to enjoy a round of golf while engaging in friendly camaraderie on the course. Among the attendees were notable figures such as the Speaker of Parliament, Filimone Jitoko, and Indonesian Ambassador, Dupito Simamora.
Group president Sai Tokalau expressed the importance of the outing, noting that while some members were unable to attend, the spirit of the event was uplifting. He reflected on the group’s charitable endeavors over the past year, highlighting their commitment to philanthropy.
“Our group has always been charitable throughout the year. Whatever we collect at every golf game, we distribute it to charities,” Tokalau stated. This past year, their contributions supported organizations like Dilkusha Home, Homes of Hope, and Chevalier Boys Hostel. He emphasized the positive impact of their initiatives and expressed hope for even greater contributions in the coming year.
Tokalau also mentioned the diverse composition of the group, which includes members from various ethnic backgrounds holding influential positions in government and society, including the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka.
Currently, there are no golf tournaments scheduled until next month, allowing members to focus on their community initiatives and strengthen their bonds.
