A total of 395 teachers who have enhanced their qualifications will soon receive an initial payment of 50 percent towards their salary upgrade, with the remaining 50 percent set to be issued in January 2025. This announcement was made by Aseri Radrodro, Minister for Education, during the Fiji Teachers Registration Authority Annual Congress held in Nadi.

In addition to the salary upgrades for these teachers, Radrodro also mentioned that 103 Assistant Principals will benefit from a promotion in their salary bands, distinguishing their roles from those of Heads of Departments. He expressed gratitude to the teachers for their commitment to improving their professional qualifications, which not only strengthens their teaching capabilities but also enhances their skills in areas such as management—a focus that the Government is eager to support through these necessary payments.

The congress continues in Nadi today, highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to invest in the professional development of educators and recognizing their vital contributions to education and society.

This initiative not only rewards teachers for their dedication and hard work but also emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development in the education sector. Such advancements are encouraging for both current teachers and those considering entering the profession, suggesting a promising future for educational excellence.
