The Ministry of Education has successfully processed salary upgrades for approximately 250 teachers in the previous financial year, with the total financial implications reaching around $4.1 million. Education Minister Aseri Radrodro addressed a question from Opposition MP Premila Kumar regarding the lack of corresponding salary increases for teachers who had improved their qualifications.
Radrodro explained that two significant policy initiatives were undertaken in collaboration with the Civil Service. The first initiative, aligned with the Coalition Government’s direction, aims at the regularization and stepping up of eligible staff within the Civil Service set for February 2024.
