A quick and effective response from the National Fire Authority (NFA) today prevented a potential disaster at the Tavua Police Barracks, where a fire broke out around 5:30 PM. Crews from the NFA arrived at the scene within minutes, successfully containing the blaze that had impacted two flats, ensuring that it did not spread to the wider residential area.

Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported as a result of the incident. In the aftermath, both the police and NFA are set to carry out a joint investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire. This swift action not only mitigated potential damage but also highlighted the efficiency and readiness of emergency services in the region.
