TAMBUA Sands Beach Resort, operating under Warwick Hotels and Resorts along Fiji’s picturesque Coral Coast in Sigatoka, is making significant strides in community partnership and development by offering practical tourism training opportunities for young women from local villages. This initiative is designed to nurture future leaders and equip them with essential skills for success in Fiji’s vital tourism sector.

Currently, the resort has two enthusiastic trainees on board. Vivita Nakwai from Namada Village is already making her mark after completing her first year at the Fiji National University (FNU) in Nadi, where she is pursuing a Diploma in Front Office Operations. Her dedication and professionalism during her training at the resort have positively impacted the guest experience.

Milika Bolakoro from Vatuakarasa Village is also part of the training program at Tambua Sands. She is set to begin her tertiary studies in Human Resource Management in 2026 and is determined to build a solid foundation in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Angela Bob, the Resort Manager, emphasized that supporting youth strengthens the tourism industry and empowers communities for future generations. She expressed the resort’s commitment to giving back to the community by preparing future leaders with the necessary training to thrive in a sector that is vital to Fiji’s economy.

The initiative reflects Tambua Sands Resort’s dedication to uplifting surrounding villages, promoting education, and fostering career growth for the youth of Fiji. By providing hands-on training opportunities, the resort aims to inspire more young individuals to engage with and contribute to the flourishing tourism sector, ensuring a bright future for both the trainees and the community as a whole.
