Fijian Drua back-row player Josefa Tamani is gearing up to support his team as they prepare to face the Brumbies in the opening match of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific 2025 season. After returning from the Pro D2 competition in France, the 27-year-old from Vagadaci, Levuka, is thrilled to be back in the Drua lineup and is eagerly anticipating the first match.

Tamani has expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation, attributing their readiness for the upcoming clash to the valuable experience gained during the Flying Fijians tour. He emphasized the positive atmosphere within the team as they train daily in anticipation of the season’s challenges.

“I’m so happy and lucky to be back with the Drua. There is a lot of talent in the back-row positions, and I’m excited to contribute alongside such experienced teammates,” Tamani stated. He understands the competitive nature of the squad and remains focused on achieving both his personal goals and the team’s aspirations for the season.

The home match against the Brumbies is set for February 15 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, starting at 3:35 PM. Tamani is particularly excited about playing on home turf and performing in front of his family and supporters. He calls on local fans to come out and support the Vuvale team, highlighting their presence as crucial to the team’s success.

With the season ahead, Tamani’s commitment to maintaining discipline and providing support to his teammates reinforces a solid foundation for the Fijian Drua’s journey in Super Rugby Pacific this year. The enthusiasm and dedication he conveys offer a hopeful outlook for both the player and the team as they embark on this new chapter.
