The murder case involving Taione Senikaucava has been moved to the Suva High Court. Senikaucava stands accused of murdering his wife amid a heated exchange in Veisari before transporting her body to the Totogo Police Station last December.
During a court appearance this morning before Magistrate Shageeth Somarathe at the Suva Magistrates Court, Senikaucava was formally charged with one count of murder. State Counsel Pooja Mishra requested the transfer to the High Court, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations, which classify as an indictable offence.
The court noted that the case was initially in the Magistrates Court because of a legal vacation period. The proceedings have been scheduled for adjournment until the 23rd of this month, allowing for the necessary legal processes to unfold in a manner that seeks justice in this grave matter.
