Sydney Suva has secured a place in the semifinals of the Rams Group of Companies Sanatan World Cup by defeating New Zealand Sanatan 2-1 in a quarterfinal match that went into extra time.

Pranesh Goundar put the local team ahead with an early goal, but New Zealand Sanatan equalized through Issac Kumar late in the second half, pushing the game into extra time.

Lachlan Lal, who came off the bench, scored the decisive goal for the team coached by Sanjeev Singh, under the management of Nick Sharma and Moshin Nabi.
