A 19-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with an alleged robbery due to the rapid response of local police. On the afternoon of February 17, 2025, the Colo-i-Suva Community Post received a report detailing that the accused had stolen a woman’s phone and personal belongings.
Officers from the Nasinu Police Station, with assistance from the Police Dog Unit, were dispatched for immediate backup. They successfully tracked the victim’s phone using the mobile device of the victim’s partner, leading them to Valelevu. Shortly thereafter, the young man was arrested, and the victim’s belongings were recovered.
The suspect has been formally charged with robbery and appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court, where he has been remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
