A weak trough of low pressure sits just to the southern parts of Viti Levu, bringing associated cloud and showers to eastern and southern areas of the group. This bulletin was issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre, Nadi at 5:30am on Saturday 2 May 2026.

Through to midnight tonight expect occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms for Serua‑Namosi, Navua‑Suva‑Nausori, Natadradave‑Korovou, Sigatoka‑Coral Coast, Tailevu‑Naitasiri‑Ra, Cakaudrove, southern Bua, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Elsewhere conditions will be partly cloudy with afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls are possible over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu; localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding in flood‑prone areas.

Winds will be moderate to fresh from the southeast and gusty at times, with seas remaining rough. Mariners and small‑craft operators should take care in these conditions and monitor local advisories.

The outlook for Sunday remains similar, with occasional showers expected for the eastern and southern districts noted above and partly cloudy skies with afternoon or evening showers elsewhere. Isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls may again occur over parts of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, with continued risk of localised flash flooding in susceptible catchments.

Regional details: Navua/Suva/Nausori are forecast occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with temperatures around 23–30°C (Sunday outlook 23–30°C). Nadi/Lautoka/Ba and Tavua/Rakiraki should see partly cloudy conditions with afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms, temperatures near 23–32°C (Sunday lows around 22°C). Yasawa/Mamanuca and Sigatoka/Coral Coast expect similar afternoon or evening showers, highs to 31°C. Labasa may reach up to 33°C with afternoon showers possible. Savusavu, Nabouwalu, Taveuni, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups and Kadavu will generally have occasional showers with temperatures about 23–30°C. Rotuma remains under a trough of low pressure with occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms, moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, moderate to rough seas, and temperatures near 24–31°C.
