A new dessert venture, SweetSip, made its debut today at the GOLDFM ROC Market in Suva, bringing a unique selection of milk-based beverages and fusion sweets to the local market. Situated at the driveway of Mead Road, SweetSip marks a noteworthy addition to Fiji’s culinary scene, distinguishing itself as the first of its kind in the area.
Rajneel Kumar, one of the owners, expressed his delight at the warm reception from market attendees, noting the chance to display their offerings to a broader audience. He credited the YES program with significantly enhancing their business opportunities, thanks in part to a $3,000 grant that facilitated their growth and the acquisition of essential equipment.
Kumar stated, “Being part of the YES program has helped us boost the business and acquire many machines to support our operations.” He shared that participating in the ROC Market has provided invaluable exposure and contributed to the business’s development.
His business partner, Aachaal Reddy, revealed plans for a new storefront in the heart of Suva, aiming to inspire other local entrepreneurs to think beyond traditional limits and embrace innovative concepts. This outreach aims to foster a spirit of creativity among local business owners, encouraging them to pursue unique ideas confidently.
The ROC Market has been recognized as a vibrant hub for small businesses, showcasing local entrepreneurship and creativity. Similar initiatives, like the Adi Senitoa event, have also played crucial roles in reviving community ties and bolstering local economies. These markets not only spotlight diverse small businesses like SweetSip but also serve as platforms for artisans and vendors to introduce their products and connect with the public.
Overall, the promising start for SweetSip reflects a hopeful trend of emerging local businesses taking root in Fiji’s flourishing market scene, emphasizing community engagement and the importance of supporting local creators.
