The Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) is gearing up for the 2025 Hot Bread Kitchen Vulaca Championship with intensive preparations. Games coordinator Jone Baleilomaloma revealed that player selection took place earlier this January, and athletes have been dedicating themselves to refining their skills in anticipation of the event.
Recently, the SVA hosted a Mini tournament featuring 16 men’s teams and eight women’s teams, allowing players to display their talents and gain competitive experience. Baleilomaloma expressed his satisfaction with the progress observed, highlighting the team’s commitment to participating in weekly club games and the notable improvement in performances.
“The preparation has been going so well for the Vulaca tournament,” he stated, praising the players’ consistent attendance at their Saturday club matches. This commitment is seen as a positive indicator of the efforts being made toward success in the championship.
The association remains hopeful about their prospects at the championship, focusing on player development and fostering a supportive environment for all members. “We are looking at a good year for Suva Volleyball Association, and we maintain a positive mindset in terms of development,” Baleilomaloma added. The SVA is also prioritizing game time for players, particularly younger participants.
The SVA extends its gratitude to families and supporters for their continued encouragement, urging them to attend weekly competitions to experience the excitement of volleyball. The Vulaca Championship is set for February 21-22, with the specific venue yet to be determined.
This dedicated preparation reflects the SVA’s commitment to growing the sport in the region as they approach this anticipated championship. Their focus on development and community support offers a bright outlook for both novice and experienced players.
