After several months of rigorous investigations into a viral burglary case on Bau Street in Suva, authorities have successfully charged the suspect and presented him in court. The investigation began in March when a local family on Bau Street reported a burglary after discovering a significant amount of their personal belongings had been stolen.

Thanks to the collective efforts of the Criminal Investigations Department, operations, and Intelligence teams, the accused, a 34-year-old man, was arrested at his home in Saivou in Ra following a conducted raid.

The suspect faced charges including one count of burglary and one count of theft and appeared in Suva Magistrates Court yesterday. Moreover, about $1,500 worth of stolen items were successfully recovered by the joint investigation team.

Currently, the accused is held in custody at the Totogo Police Station while further investigations regarding his potential involvement in other burglaries continue.
