Sydney Suva kicked off its campaign in the Rams Group of Companies 10th Sanatan World Cup with a solid performance, securing a 1-0 victory against Labasa.
Midfielder Nickel Chand scored the decisive goal midway through the second half, converting a corner with a header. Suva’s lineup featured notable players, including national goalkeeper Jerome Narayan, captain Kishan Sami, Muni Shivam Naisu, Merrill Nand, and brothers Lachlan and Marcus Lal.
On the other side, Labasa fielded a strong team that included the Khem brothers, Anish and Ashnil Raju, along with Navua representatives Matthew Charitar, Brian Charitar, Vinal Prasad, and Jasnit Vikash.
After a tense first half, Suva managed to control the game and secure the win, with a strong defensive performance until the final whistle.
