Police are currently investigating a home invasion that occurred at Deovji Street in Suva on Monday night. During the incident, three intruders broke into a home, where a 39-year-old resident was awakened around 7:30 PM to find them in his bedroom. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, which was subsequently intercepted at a checkpoint in Laqere. This led to the arrest of the vehicle’s driver.

Authorities have confirmed that while one suspect is in custody, two others remain at large. However, their identities are known to the police, and efforts are underway to apprehend them as part of the ongoing investigation.

This incident highlights concerns over property crime, similar to other recent break-ins within the region. In a related case, a burglary in Lakena involved suspects who were eventually apprehended by police at a Suva motel. The swift action taken in these cases reflects the commitment of law enforcement to tackle the rising trend of home invasions and property thefts.

The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, fostering a cooperative environment with authorities to deter similar incidents. Despite these challenges, the police’s prompt responses offer hope for the community, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures in ensuring safety and security for residents.
