Waratahs coach Dan McKellar clarified that there has been no instruction from Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt regarding the deployment of Joseph Suaalii in the midfield. McKellar emphasized that the decision to exclude Wallabies back Andrew Kellaway from the matchday 23 for the upcoming game against Swire Shipping Drua was not influenced by any ulterior motives. Kellaway has returned from international duties with a minor knee injury, leaving him a bit underprepared, and he will need to prove himself for future selection.

In Suaalii’s debut Super Rugby Pacific season, he primarily played as a fullback. However, during the Wallabies’ recent 15-Test campaign, he spent significant time in the midfield. His performance at outside centre in the Waratahs’ emphatic victory over the Queensland Reds last Friday was notable, especially in defense, leading to his continued selection for the match against Drua.

The Drua, who almost pulled off an upset in a narrow 29-24 loss to the Waratahs last season, are looking to bounce back after a disappointing opening-round defeat to Moana Pasifika. They’ve revamped their squad in efforts to improve their performance.

For the Warriors, scrumhalf Issak Fines-Leleiwasa has been moved to the bench, with co-captain Frank Lomani assuming the starting position alongside Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula in the halfback combination.

Fans can catch the exciting clash between the Drua and the Waratahs live tomorrow night at 8:35 PM on FBC Sports, promising a thrilling display of rugby action as both teams seek to assert their dominance early in the season.
