Weather Update!
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, as of 3:30 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Hold onto your hats! A STRONG WIND WARNING is still swirling around Kadavu, the nearby tiny islands, and the southern Lau and Moala groups. Those winds are ready to audition for a role in a stormy sequel, so watch out!

The situation? Oh, just a lazy trough of low pressure trying to find its way eastwards, dragging along clouds, rain, and the occasional shower party. The northerly winds are putting on a good show across Fiji, but from tonight, we’re switching to some more laid-back southwesterly vibes.

Here’s the forecast leading up to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:

For Kadavu and those cheeky little islands nearby, as well as the southern Lau and Moala group, expect your day to start with an enthusiastic northwesterly wind blowing at about 45 km/hr with gusts that could perk up to 55 km/hr. But don’t worry; those winds will start to settle down a bit later today.

For the rest of Fiji, we’re talking moderate to fresh winds with an occasional gust as they transition to being predominantly southwesterly tonight.

Today’s entertainment lineup includes:
– Occasional rain and some solo thunderstorm acts across Viti Levu, Kadavu, and those smaller islands, with the Lau and Lomaiviti group joining in the fun. But fear not, the rain is expected to clear from the west as the sun tries to break through by later today. Heads up for some potential heavy downpours, too—nature’s way of keeping things suspenseful!
– For the rest of Fiji: A little cloudy with some showers, sporadic thunderstorms, and maybe even a heavy surprise here and there.

As we step into tomorrow:
– A little fine tuning for Sigatoka-Coral Coast, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Kadavu, and surrounding islands, with brief showers making a quick cameo. The rest of Fiji will have a fine look, perfect for your upcoming selfie. Enjoy a cool night ahead!
– On Friday: More fine scenarios with shower interruptions on the same stage.

Specific forecasts:
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Today promises inconsistent rain with some thunder. A max of 26 will have you searching for your umbrella. Tomorrow’s vibes should be cooler with a max of 27!

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Today’s outfit includes intermittent rain and thunder, with a max of 27. Tomorrow, expect mainly fine conditions, maxing out at 28.

For your beach day at Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Enjoy some occasional rain before the sun sets in at a lovely 26 today, and enjoy mild temperatures tomorrow with a max of 27!

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Expect a warm 28 today, but don’t be surprised if Mother Nature throws in some showers. Tomorrow? Mainly fine and sunny at a max of 30!

And for those in the northern regions like Taveuni, it’s (you guessed it!) cloudy today with possible thunderstorms. Looking ahead? You can expect an easy-going 29 tomorrow.

For our friends on Rotuma, it’s some showers and possible thunder, with a cozy max of 29, easing into a more relaxed Friday.

So there you have it! Keep your spirits high, your umbrellas at hand, and remember, it’s just weather—it can’t rain on your parade forever!
