The University has announced that, following a four-day strike, all staff have returned to their duties as of yesterday.

A joint statement issued by the Association of the University of the South Pacific Staff (AUSPS) and the University of the South Pacific Staff Union (USPSU) on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, indicated that all staff members who participated in the strike were urged by their unions to resume work starting Thursday, October 24, 2024.

However, the unions emphasized that they will continue to oversee the progress of their demands for a fair and transparent investigation concerning Vice Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia.

If necessary, the unions are prepared to initiate strike action again on short notice. Their strike mandate remains in effect until February 14, 2025.
