Melbourne Storm has officially announced the re-signing of Tui Kamikamica, who will continue with the club under a new one-year contract for the 2026 NRL season. This confirmation comes as a significant boost for the team, reflecting their commitment to retaining key players.
Kamikamica, who wears the number 181 for the Storm, has been an integral part of the team since his debut against Penrith in 2017. Over his tenure, he has made 138 appearances and has consistently been a vital asset under the guidance of coach Craig Bellamy, playing over 20 matches in each of the last three seasons, including 24 fixtures in 2025 alone.
In addition to his club duties, the experienced forward has served in the Storm’s Leadership Group for the past two years and has taken on the role of captain for the Fiji Bati since 2023, boasting 23 international caps.
Expressing his satisfaction with the contract extension, Kamikamica shared his pride in continuing his journey in Melbourne. “Storm was the first club to give me an opportunity to play NRL. It has always been an honour to wear the purple jersey, and I’m excited to remain in Melbourne for 2026 and continue playing alongside my teammates,” he remarked.
Frank Ponissi, the Storm’s Director of Football, lauded Kamikamica’s longstanding contributions to the team. “Tui has been a tremendous servant to our club for the past nine years, and we’re pleased to have his signature confirmed for the 2026 season. He has been a loyal, hard-working member of our squad for a long time, and we’re excited to have his continued leadership and impact as we prepare for the season ahead,” Ponissi stated.
To celebrate Kamikamica’s re-signing, Fiji Airways is offering discounted return flights from Melbourne to Fiji. Fans can take advantage of this promotion by visiting the airline’s website and using the promo code FJSTORM, allowing them to connect with the Fijian culture and support their player in a special way.
This contract renewal not only solidifies Kamikamica’s future with Melbourne Storm but also showcases the team’s focus on building a strong and cohesive squad heading into the upcoming NRL season.
