Solomoni Nata Appointed as i-Taukei Land Trust Board CEO for Next Two Years Following Successful Interim Period

Solomoni Nata has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the i-Taukei Land Trust Board (iTLTB) for a term of two years. This announcement was made by the iTLTB Chair and Minister for i-Taukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, who noted that Nata’s appointment comes after a successful period as Interim CEO last year.

During his interim tenure, Nata accomplished several remarkable tasks, including the establishment of the i-Taukei Wealth Fund and the Land Development facility. These initiatives aim to provide significant support to landowning units, promoting their financial opportunities and sustainable growth.

Vasu stated that Nata’s leadership in the past year has brought about significant growth and they trust in his capabilities to further the achievements of TLTB and carry out the Board’s mandate more effectively. He highlighted Nata’s significant contributions to reassessing laws and policies affecting the iTaukei people, helping to rebuild trust and fortify relationships with chiefs and landowners.

Vasu also applauded Nata’s efforts in fortifying the corporate structure, enhancing job security, and implementing a capacity-building initiative for management and staff through thorough job evaluations. Among his other achievements are new policy adoption, investment diversification for landowners, and facilitating the purchase of TLTB buildings in different regions.

As the new CEO, Nata will continue to lead key reforms aimed at transforming the TLTB, ensuring it better serves landowning units and aligns with the organization’s mission, guided by the Board.
