Solomoni Nata has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer for the i-Taukei Land Trust Board (iTLTB) for a two-year term. The announcement was made by iTLTB Chair and Minister for i-Taukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, who praised Nata’s successful stint as the interim CEO last year.
During his interim run, Nata achieved significant milestones, including the formation of the i-Taukei Wealth Fund and Land Development facility. These endeavors are projected to provide substantial support to land-owning units, boosting their economic prospects and enabling sustainable development.
Vasu expressed his confidence in Nata’s leadership, citing the substantial progress observed under his guidance over the past year. He said, “We believe in his ability to navigate the TLTB towards achieving more and executing the Board’s mandate with greater efficiency.”
Vasu also acknowledged Nata’s substantial contributions in reviewing laws and policies concerning the iTaukei people, attributing the restored trust and strengthened relationships with chiefs and landowners to his efforts. Furthermore, he praised Nata’s initiatives to enhance the corporate structure, improve job security, and grow capacity for management and staff through comprehensive evaluations.
The new CEO, guided by the Board, will persist in leading crucial reforms to transform the TLTB, ensuring better service to the land-owning units and alignment with the organization’s mission.
