The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) is gearing up for the 2025 Municipal Elections and the 2026 National General Elections following important leadership changes at their recent annual general meeting. Ratu Filimoni Soqeta has been elected as the new president, with Ratu Ramesio Qarau and Ratu Epeli Tuisese stepping in as vice-presidents. This newly established leadership team works alongside Party Leader Hon. Aseri Radrodro and Vice President Ratu Jone Lesuma, signaling a focus on youthful and visionary governance.

At the AGM, an impressive attendance of 316 committed members was recorded, showcasing a strong interest in the party’s growth and its role in future governance. This significant turnout conveys a clear indication that SODELPA is ready to take advantage of the electoral opportunities on the horizon.

During the meeting, party leaders highlighted the unity, enthusiasm, and renewed purpose demonstrated by their members, which they believe points to a promising future for both SODELPA and Fiji at large. The leadership team is made up of what they described as “young, visionary leaders,” a strategic initiative designed to align with the electorate’s aspirations for progress and stability.

With the political landscape in Fiji undergoing changes, SODELPA’s proactive approach places them in a strong position to contribute positively to national governance. Their commitment to democratic engagement represents an encouraging outlook for Fiji’s future and could potentially bring about significant changes within the political realm. This renewed energy within the party may resonate well with voters, setting the stage for thoughtful engagement and innovative solutions to pressing concerns.
