Maika Sivo, a standout player for Vodafone Fiji Bati, has been released from the Parramatta Eels to pursue new opportunities in his career. The 31-year-old winger is actively seeking a new club, with his manager already in discussions with various overseas teams.

Sivo has confirmed that negotiations are underway with the Rhinos, and there is growing speculation about him making a move to the Super League, potentially reuniting with his former coach, Brad Arthur.

Despite the possibility of leaving, Sivo has a deep fondness for the Eels, referring to the club as his second home. He has expressed a commitment not to play against the Eels in honor of the support they have given to him and his family.

“I will always remember that place from the bottom of my heart, especially my family; my kids were born there, and everything I know about my football career is tied to the Eels. There will always be good memories there,” he stated.

Eels General Manager Mark O’Neill acknowledged Sivo’s significant contributions to the club and extended his best wishes for Sivo’s future endeavors, affirming that he will always be seen as part of the Eels family.

While navigating this transition, Sivo remains focused on representing the Vodafone Fiji Bati in the upcoming Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship match against the Cook Islands Aitu, scheduled for tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium at 8:10 PM.
