HILTON Fiji Beach Resort & Spa launched ‘Sip Society’, a new initiative designed to celebrate the art of mixology at Hilton locations. This endeavor underscores the commitment of Hilton’s bartenders, who are described as artisans blending passion and creativity into their craft. “Our bartenders are more than just drink makers—they’re true artisans,” the resort stated in a recent announcement.

The Sip Society aims to foster connections between guests and Hilton venues through social media and specialized events, building on the success of the resort’s previous Food & Beverage Masters campaign, which focused on excellence in culinary craftsmanship across the Asia Pacific region. Guests at the resort can indulge in a selection of signature cocktails made with premium ingredients, designed to offer an exceptional taste experience.

One featured cocktail is the Spicy Po’oi Margarita, available exclusively at Koro Bar within Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa. This signature drink was crafted by bartender Zach Whippy, drawing inspiration from his wife’s Rotuman heritage. The Margarita creatively transforms traditional Po’oi, a dessert, into a bold cocktail that combines tropical mango sweetness, coconut rum, a spicy kick, and tequila.

Mr. Whippy expressed his excitement about showcasing local flavors and creativity through cocktails, stating, “I look forward to shaking things up and sharing these unique creations with everyone.” Fellow bartender Lusiana Mocelutu echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting other signature drinks such as the Cure Me Baby, Sunset Revival, and Coral Cloud, each crafted to tell a story through their flavors.

Andreas Reinhardt, the F&B director at Hilton Fiji, emphasized that Sip Society is not just about cocktails but aims to offer an elevated experience for guests, with each drink reflecting innovation and talent. “We’re excited to share this journey and bring something truly special to the table,” he remarked.

This initiative not only enhances guests’ enjoyment but also aligns with broader industry trends in Fiji. Following a recent partnership between the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association and Finest Liquor focusing on cocktail competitions, Sip Society fits seamlessly into a landscape that values skilled craft and innovation in the hospitality sector. This positive energy in the local mixology scene is indicative of an evolving and vibrant tourism industry in Fiji, promising a bright future for hospitality professionals and guests alike.
