Nadroga Navosa’s western sub‑zone wrapped up the third round of the Secondary Schools Rugby League over the weekend, with a string of tight results that have sharpened the race for places in the knockout stages. Sigatoka Methodist College enjoyed a strong showing across grades, while Nasikawa Vision College left the day with two heavy defeats as teams jockeyed for quarter‑final contention.

In the U15s, Sigatoka Methodist College edged Saraswati Vidya Sabhai School 10‑8 in a closely fought contest. The narrow margin underlined the competitive balance in the younger age group and handed Sigatoka a valuable win as the competition moves deeper into elimination territory.

St. Therese of Lisieux College strengthened its U17 hopes with a 16‑4 victory over Nasikawa Vision College. The win is described as a boost to St. Therese’s bid to secure a quarter‑final berth from the western zone, lifting them up the standings as pressure mounts on teams across the sub‑zone.

Nasikawa suffered further disappointment in the U19 category, where Ba Methodist High School put in a dominant performance to shut them out 20‑0. The result extended Ba Methodist’s impressive run in the U19s and positions them as one of the teams to watch as the competition progresses toward the knockout rounds.

Sigatoka Methodist College also took the open grade on the day, outplaying St. Therese of Lisieux College 26‑10. That victory gave Sigatoka a double dose of success over the weekend and emphasised their strength across age groups in the Nadroga Navosa sub‑zone.

The third round’s results have tightened the table in several grades, with outright places for the elimination phase still far from settled. Teams that picked up wins this weekend will take momentum into round four, while those on the wrong end of results face mounting pressure to regroup quickly.

Round four is scheduled for the upcoming weekend, when clubs will look to consolidate their positions or mount late pushes for qualification. With elimination rounds drawing closer, every match carries greater stakes as schools across the Nadroga Navosa sub‑zone continue to vie for spots in the knockouts.
