The Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort has unveiled an innovative Artificial Intelligence-powered virtual concierge named Coco, aimed at enhancing guest experiences while promoting environmental sustainability. The hotel manager, Yvo Alexander Van Dijk, shared that Coco is accessible through a QR code, allowing guests to interact with the virtual assistant by simply scanning the code.

Coco is designed to be especially informative and engaging during peak travel seasons, particularly around the upcoming holiday festivities. Van Dijk highlighted that Coco will provide timely information about various Christmas events, including schedules and costs, while also addressing guest inquiries.

A significant aspect of deploying Coco is its contribution to reducing paper consumption at the resort. Previously, the resort printed materials equivalent to about 50 trees each year. The introduction of this digital concierge represents a marked shift in the resort’s operations, aligning with its sustainability goals. “Now we’ve reduced that tremendously,” stated Van Dijk, emphasizing a more eco-friendly approach.

Coco’s capabilities include answering questions about events, facilitating bookings for restaurants, and guiding guests to activities throughout the resort. The digital concierge, which was launched just four weeks ago, has also helped the resort transition to a fully digitized system that includes digital maps linking different areas of the resort.

Looking ahead, the resort plans to expand Coco’s functionalities further. Upcoming features will include 3D maps of the three resorts and the golf club, which will assist guests in navigating the property and offer insights into dining options and events.

In embracing this cutting-edge technology, the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort is not only enhancing its guest services but also making significant strides in environmental conservation, creating a more enjoyable and sustainable experience for visitors.
