Good news! The weather couldn’t decide what mood it wanted to be in today, so it’s throwing a mixed party of clouds and showers over the Northern and Eastern regions of the country. Think of it as Mother Nature playing musical chairs—somewhere there’s a trough of low pressure hanging out, and it’s not leaving anytime soon. On top of that, we’ve got those nice and breezy southeast to northwest winds swooping by.
Here’s what to expect for the rest of today and into tomorrow across the cheerful Fiji group:
If you’re in the Northern Division, Lau, or Lomaiviti groups, prepare for a bit of a wet blanket; expect occasional showers that might decide to become heavy (we’re talking monsoon-level here) along with some thunderous excitement.
In Sigatoka, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Yasawa, Kadavu, and the little neighbors nearby, get ready for a cloudy barrage with some showers. But don’t worry—if you’re elsewhere, it’ll mostly be fine today except for some sneaky afternoon or evening showers. Just when you thought you were in the clear, those thunderstorms might crash the party with heavy falls.
Heads up! Localized heavy downpours could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas, so if your favorite pair of shoes is prone to water damage, better leave them at home. Winds are expected to be moderate to fresh from the southeast to northwest, and seas will be moderate to rough—perfect for an adventurous boat ride, if you dare!
Now, let’s take a peek at what Monday has in store: Expect some more showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Northern Division, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. If you’re hanging out in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Yasawa, or Kadavu, you’ll again see those cloudy periods with some showers—that seems to be a trend! Expect some fine spells elsewhere, but don’t get too comfortable; afternoon or evening thunderstorms are likely to pop up unannounced with heavy falls.
For all our specific locations:
– Navua/Suva/Nausori: Cloudy with some showers and the possibility of thunderous surprises in the afternoon or evening.
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Expect fine weather, but don’t forget to bring an umbrella just in case those sneaky afternoon showers decide to crash the party.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Cloudy spells are likely, and those afternoon storms could swing by unexpectedly.
– Tavua/Rakiraki: Fine most of the day but be ready for the occasional storm cameo later on.
– Yasawa/Mamanuca: Cloudy periods with some showers over Yasawa, but the rest of you can take a breath—just a few afternoon showers elsewhere.
– Labasa: Showers will wander by with some heavy enthusiasm; don’t say we didn’t warn you!
– Savusavu: Similar to Labasa, with those occasional heavy showers hanging around.
– Lau/Lomaiviti: Showers, heavy at times, are expected; best to carry a good book for indoor activities!
– Kadavu: Cloud cover with some showers; it’s a cozy vibe, really.
– Rotuma: Enjoy the mixed bag of occasional showers and the slight chance for a thunderstorm, with winds reminding you who’s boss.
Buckle up, folks—it’s going to be an eventful weekend in terms of weather!
