Weather Update
Gather ‘round, folks! It seems the skies have decided to turn on the taps, and they’re not just dripping – they’re gushing! As of 10:45 AM on this fine Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, we have a *HEAVY RAIN WARNING* in the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Viti Levu, Kadavu, and those cheeky little islands nearby. If you thought you could stay dry, think again!
In fact, the entire country is under a *HEAVY RAIN ALERT*. That’s right, folks, grab your umbrellas because you might just need them, even in the dry spots!
What’s going on? An active trough of low pressure has decided to make itself at home over Fiji, and it looks like it’s in no rush to leave. So expect some cozy cloud cover and plenty of rain over the next few days, courtesy of our ever-generous moist northerly winds.
Forecast until midnight:
Prepare for rain – heavy at times, with a side of thunderstorms over Yasawa, Mamanuca, Viti Levu, Kadavu, and the surrounding islands. Everywhere else? Don’t worry, you get the occasional rain too, with a chance of thunderstorms crashing the party!
Watch out for localized heavy falls that might just turn your favorite low-lying spot into a mini swimming pool (flippers not included). Plus, winds will be moderate to fresh – which basically means it might blow your hat off when you least expect it. And if you decide to head out to sea… it might get a bit rough, so maybe stick to shore and save the surfing for another time.
Looking to Thursday? Spoiler alert: expect more of the same. Heavy rain, occasional thunderstorms – rinse and repeat, folks!
Here’s a quick regional rundown:
