The Loloma Heights Rugby Club showcased an impressive performance at the 2026 Agromarketing Grassroots 7s, coming tantalizingly close to a clean sweep by clinching wins in two of the three finals they competed in. Based in Urata, Savusavu, the club entered a team for each category of the tournament, with all three advancing to the finals.
While the women’s team faced a tough battle against the Sinukakala Amazons, ultimately succumbing 14-7, the younger athletes in the U21 division shone brightly. The Loloma Heights U21 squad delivered a stellar game, overpowering St. Teresa Nakuabalavu with a convincing 19-0 victory, earning them $7,000 in prize money.
The senior men’s team further solidified the club’s success by taking down Nagadoa with a commanding 24-7 scoreline in the men’s cup final, securing an additional $5,000 reward.
The tournament celebrated the talent and sportsmanship of local teams and was graced by the presence of Ratu Isikeli Tuiwailevu, the assistant minister for itaukei affairs, underscoring its importance to the community.
