Mohamed Salah, the standout forward for Liverpool and the Premier League’s top scorer for the 2024-25 season, has received a nomination for the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Players’ Player of the Year award. Joining him on the prestigious list is his teammate, Alexis Mac Allister, while Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and Cole Palmer from Chelsea complete the lineup of nominees.
Salah’s remarkable season saw him net 29 goals and provide 18 assists, equaling the record for highest goal involvements in a single Premier League campaign with a total of 47 contributions. This achievement ties him with legends Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer, who set the record during seasons featuring more matches. Salah’s performance has been pivotal in helping Liverpool secure the league title, finishing a commendable ten points ahead of Arsenal, who placed second.
In contrast, Alexander Isak, who ranked second in the scoring charts with 23 goals, was instrumental in Newcastle’s successful campaign to qualify for the Champions League, demonstrating his importance to the team. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer’s 15 goals and eight assists helped Chelsea secure a fourth-place finish.
The awards ceremony scheduled for August 19 in Manchester will honor the deserving winners, who represent the exceptional talent present in the Premier League.
This season has not only showcased Salah’s skills but also highlighted Liverpool’s dominance in English football, igniting hope among fans for continued success. As the club builds on this triumph, there’s a palpable excitement about the team’s future prospects.
