The Land Transport Authority (LTA), in collaboration with the Fiji Police Force and other critical partners, is gearing up for a coordinated enforcement operation aimed at ensuring safety during the finals of the 2024 Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Super Deans Championship.
Irimaia Rokosawa, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of LTA, stated that any instances of unruly behavior or violations of traffic laws will be promptly addressed as enforcement teams keep a watchful eye on road activities.
The operation will particularly focus on curbing dangerous behaviors among passengers, such as waving school flags from moving buses, which pose risks to both public safety and other road users.
Mr. Rokosawa emphasized that ensuring public safety remains a top priority and announced that joint teams will be monitoring traffic regulation compliance at crucial checkpoints.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution, particularly in areas with a high volume of pedestrian activity.
