Bula FC captain Roy Krishna has urged calm and concentration as the Fijian side prepares to meet Tahiti United in the OFC Pro League this Sunday, insisting the team’s priority is to sharpen its overall game rather than tailor its preparation solely to the opposition. The match will be played at the National Stadium in Honiara, Solomon Islands, and will be shown live on FBC Sports.

Krishna said the club’s training in the build-up has been about fixing recurring issues from earlier fixtures and consolidating strengths across the team before turning to specific opponent-based adjustments. “We just want to play our game,” he said. “We know where our weaknesses and strengths are, and we just want to do our best on the field and focus on ourselves.” He added that refining all aspects of their play — rather than overreacting to the profile of the next opponent — will give Bula FC the best chance of consistent results.

The captain also downplayed concerns about external factors. Asked about the Honiara surface and the possibility of rain or heavy conditions, Krishna said those elements are out of the players’ control and not a distraction. “We are not worried about the ground or weather conditions,” he said, noting that the team’s mindset is to adapt during the match rather than let conditions dictate their preparation.

The game comes as part of the Pro League schedule with only a handful of matches remaining before the season rounds up, a period Krishna described as crucial for learning and growth. “There’s still a lot for us to learn,” he said, underlining the club’s longer-term aim to build consistency as the campaign enters its decisive phase.

Bula FC’s message of internal focus follows a campaign that has tested squad depth. Earlier this season the club managed injury setbacks — notably defender Gabriele Matanisiga’s absence with a back problem that forced changes for a Round Three fixture in Melbourne — and coach Stephane Auvray has repeatedly had to balance selection as players returned to fitness. Krishna’s comments suggest the team believes it is moving past those disruptions and concentrating on performance fundamentals.

Sunday’s match in Honiara represents the next step in Bula FC’s OFC Pro League programme. With the fixture available live on FBC Sports, supporters will be able to follow whether the captain’s call for self-improvement translates into the kind of display Bula FC insist will see them through the closing stages of the season.
