Fiji football star Roy Krishna has set his sights on a long-term goal: winning the OFC Pro-League with his team, Bula FC. The seasoned player, now 38, recognizes the challenge ahead, with various teams prepared to compete fiercely in the league’s inaugural season.

Krishna is reaching out to fans, emphasizing their essential role in motivating the team during this exciting debut. “It won’t be easy to win the tournament as all teams have prepared really well, and so have we, but we just want to enjoy it,” he stated. He stressed the importance of fan support, hoping for a strong turnout: “This is our first season, the first professional club in Fiji. We just ask that our supporters can come out in numbers to support the boys and be our 12th men.”

Beyond the immediate competition, Krishna highlighted the significant long-term vision behind Bula FC, which aims to provide opportunities for young aspiring footballers in Fiji. He encourages young talents to seize this chance to develop their skills within their home country, a pathway he and many veteran players wished for when they were starting out. “For us Fijians, we often prefer not to leave home to pursue football abroad because of family ties. Now, with this opportunity at home, it’s a good advantage,” he explained.

The Bula FC squad is currently engaged in preseason training at the Fiji Football Academy facility in Ba, gearing up for the start of the season on January 17. As they embark on this journey, the club hopes to foster local talent and build a lasting legacy in Fiji’s football scene.
