A strong wind warning has been issued for all Fiji Waters this upcoming weekend. The Fiji Meteorological Services announced that rough seas are anticipated to increase. Sailors and fishermen are urged to take necessary precautions and avoid venturing into rough waters.

Currently, an east to southeast wind flow is affecting the Fiji group, accompanied by a trough of low pressure situated to the south. By midday today, winds are expected to be from the east to southeast at speeds of 20 to 25 knots, resulting in rough sea conditions and moderate southerly swells.

Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are predicted in several areas, including:

– Serua-Namosi
– Navua-Suva-Nausori-Tailevu
– Naitasiri and Ra-Rakiraki
– Eastern Macuata
– Southern Bua
– Cakaudrove
– Kadavu
– Lau
– Lomaiviti groups

Other regions can expect cloudy periods with showers and potential isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening. The same weather pattern is forecasted to persist across all divisions and outer islands, with possible isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening on Saturday.
