Former South Africa Sevens player Rosko Specman has expressed his enthusiasm for potentially joining a local team at the upcoming Coral Coast Sevens next year, emphasizing the tournament’s impressive growth in quality. After participating in the event last year but missing this season, Specman stated that wearing a local team’s jersey would be a memorable experience if given the chance.

He mentioned, “If any local team wants me, I’ll be up for grabs. That would be a cool thing, to play for one of the local teams.” In addition, Specman hinted at a likely return with the Mike Friday Select side, anticipating putting his boots back on for the event next year.

Specman praised the tournament’s elevated level of competition, noting that each team’s balance and intensity have significantly improved. “If you look at the whole tournament, it’s well balanced and all the teams are really competitive. Last year it was okay, but this year it’s gone up another notch,” he remarked.

His insights highlight the growing popularity of the Coral Coast Sevens, which consistently attracts international talent while enhancing the overall standards of the tournament. As Sevens rugby continues to evolve, the excitement surrounding future events promises to bring thrilling competition and showcase remarkable athleticism.
