The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is reiterating its call for drivers to take greater responsibility on the roads in light of two tragic accidents that occurred last weekend, resulting in two fatalities in Korolevu, Sigatoka, and Wairuku, Ra. LTA CEO Irimaia Rokosawa indicated that preliminary investigations into these incidents revealed that the drivers may have lost control of their vehicles, underscoring a persistent issue of reckless driving.
Despite multiple safety warnings and public advisories, Mr. Rokosawa expressed concern over the continuing prevalence of reckless behaviors like speeding and improper overtaking.
