Darsh Prakash, an 18-year-old student at Jai Narayan College, has been named the dux for 2024, crediting his achievement to a steady approach to learning and the dedicated support of his teachers and peers.
Reflecting on his journey, which began in Year Nine in 2020, Darsh noted that he always held high expectations from his parents and educators, although the dux award was not a specific target for him. “I wouldn’t say I tried harder than usual for it. I put the same effort into all my exams,” he mentioned, emphasizing the importance of a consistent study routine.
As a student focused on pure science, Darsh confronted challenging subjects and intense competition. “Consistency was key. The subjects were challenging, but I focused on my studies and was fortunate to have supportive teachers always willing to assist,” he explained.
Despite facing the challenges posed by a shortened academic year, Darsh adapted by effectively managing his time to stay on course with his studies. He expressed his gratitude to those who supported him, stating, “Taking the top prize home feels great, and I’m thankful for everyone who helped me get here.”
His father, Inesh Prakash, shared his surprise and joy upon learning of his son’s achievement, considering it a divine blessing. He expressed deep gratitude to the school for nurturing Darsh’s talents and guiding him toward success.
Looking ahead, Darsh plans to pursue a career in medicine, continuing to embody the dedication and gratitude that have defined his academic journey.
This story highlights the impact of a supportive educational environment and the power of consistent effort, serving as an inspiration for students striving toward their goals.
