Rewa’s journey in the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup came to an end today in Lautoka after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat against Labasa in their second Group B match. Following a previous loss to the NZFFI Auckland All Stars with a scoreline of 2-1, the Delta Tigers were in dire need of a positive result to maintain their chances in the competition.

The only goal of the match was scored by Christopher Wasasala in the 24th minute, which secured Labasa’s first victory of the tournament and bolstered their chances of reaching the semifinals. With this win, Labasa earned four points and is set to compete against the reigning champions, the NZFFI Auckland All Stars, tomorrow at 5:30 pm. Meanwhile, Rewa will take on the USA All Stars at 3 pm.

Despite the setback, Rewa has an opportunity to showcase their skills one last time in the tournament, aiming for redemption against the USA All Stars. This match could serve as a platform for the team to regroup and rebuild for future competitions, highlighting the resilience sports teams exhibit even in challenging times.

This tournament has been a valuable experience for Rewa, exposing them to high-level competition and providing insights for their development moving forward.
