Rewa’s Bold Victory: A Coach’s Call for Improvement

Rewa football head coach Roderick Singh acknowledged that there is still significant work ahead for his team, despite their impressive 4-0 victory over Nasinu in round 13 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League.

The match took place at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. Rewa demonstrated dominance from the outset, with captain Setareki Hughes scoring a stunning goal that put them ahead 1-0 at halftime. They maintained their strong performance in the second half, with additional goals from Tevita Warainivalu, John Orobulu, and Iosefo Verevou sealing a convincing win.

While Singh commended the players for their efforts, he stressed the importance of improvement. He pointed out that the team squandered several chances and must address their mistakes.

“The game against Nasinu was good; we started off slow in the first half, but I want to thank the boys for their great performance,” Singh stated. “There’s still a lot of work to be done; it was evident we missed quite a few chances, but I’m again thankful for the team’s effort.”

He also shared that his halftime message to the players was to avoid casual play and elevate their performance, which they successfully did in the second half.

Looking ahead to round 14, Singh expressed confidence in the team’s ability to return stronger and better prepared. He also extended his gratitude to the supporters and fans who cheered them on, dedicating the victory to them.
