The Rewa football team is preparing intensively to solidify their defense ahead of their first match against the formidable Ba football team in the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT tournament, which begins on Friday. The Delta Tigers, seen as one of the tournament’s favorites, are keen to showcase their skills, bolstered by a mix of experienced and talented players.

Head coach Rodicks Singh has expressed confidence regarding the team’s preparation, emphasizing the focus on basic skills and enhancing their defensive structure. “Preparation is going well. We are tightening our defense and need to be at our best to compete against a strong side like Ba,” Singh stated, recognizing the significant challenge that the match presents.

The team has faced weather challenges, with recent training sessions affected by poor conditions. Despite this, Singh noted that they have successfully adapted their training routines to ensure the players remain fit, highlighting their commitment to finding solutions regardless of external difficulties. “The weather conditions have become a challenge, but we have managed to keep the boys fit,” he mentioned.

Rewa is positioned in Group A, competing against previous champions Lautoka and Navua, along with the strong Ba side. The tournament, hosted at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva from May 30 to June 1, includes substantial stakes, with winners receiving $17,000, while runners-up and losing semi-finalists are awarded $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
